Evening Custodian Job Description (Decatur, GA)

​Brown’s Janitorial Service and Lawn Care is looking for a hard-working and dependable individual that is experienced in commercial cleaning to grow with our growing customer base of commercial customers.     

 

This is a part time custodian position with a typical work week of 17-20 hours.  Work location is in Decatur, GA.  Hours are 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm M-F.   Some weekends may be required.

Pay rate is $15 per hour.  Paid Weekly. 

​

​Job duties include:

• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips and applies floor finish

• Vacuums and clean carpets and mats in offices and classrooms, and other assigned areas

• Operates scrubbers, buffers, waxers, vacuums, and other equipment and machinery

• Cleans and disinfects restroom, including stalls, fixtures (i.e. toilets, urinals, faucets and sinks), mirrors and dispensers

• Restocks restroom supplies and replace trash liners daily

• Cleans and dusts walls, baseboards, vents, furniture, woodwork, chalkboards, whiteboards, and equipment

• Restocks soap and paper towel dispensers

• Performs deep cleaning duties as assigned

• Cleans windows, doors, light fixtures, touch points (i.e. handles / door knobs, light switches, etc.), countertops, sinks, faucets, and drinking fountains

• Empties and cleans waste containers and replace liners as needed

• Secures and locks all doors, windows and gates, and sets alarm(s)

• Performs minor non-technical repairs, maintenance, and adjustments to building fixtures and equipment

• Maintains cleanliness of custodial closet in a safe and orderly manner

• Moves furniture and equipment at assigned site

• Arranges multi-purpose room and / or classrooms for special events

• Moves and stores supplies

• Reports all safety, sanitary, and fire hazards

• Communicates and works cooperatively with sites and co-workers

• Attends training and meetings as requested

• Performs other related duties as directed

 

Essential Job Qualifications and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Use basic custodial supplies, equipment, and methods

• Use proper materials and methods used in cleaning work

• Use basic hand tools used in routine building maintenance

• Practice safe work practices and procedures

• Use proper care and maintenance of custodial tools

Must have the ability to:

• Pay attention to detail

• Follow oral and written instructions

• Safely use and apply cleaning agents, equipment, and materials

• Recognize and locate conditions which require maintenance and repair work

• Use and care for tools

• Work on own initiative without close supervision

• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships

 

This Job Is Ideal for Someone Who:

• Previously performed paid custodial work for a minimum of one (1) year 

• Can be depended on to consistently report to work for their daily work schedule

• Enjoys working independently

• Communicates effectively

• Available to work night hours 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm M-F
