Lawn Care Technician Job Description (Powder Springs, GA)

Brown’s Janitorial Service and Lawn Care is looking for a hard-working and dependable individual that is experienced in lawn care maintenance to grow with our growing customer base of commercial and residential lawns.  

 

This is a part time solo lawn care technician position with a typical work week of 17-20 hours M-F.  Some weekends may be required.  Work locations are commercial and residential properties in NW Georgia including but not limited to Cobb, Paulding and Bartow Counties. 

 

Job duties include:

  • Must know how to drive truck with enclosed and / open trailer in tow. 

  • Must know how to mow using a zero turn mower. 

  • Maintain grounds of assigned property. This includes residential and commercial properties.

  • Operate gas powered equipment such as mowers, pruning saws, edgers.

  • Mow and edge lawns

  • Prune and trim trees, shrubs, hedges using pruning shears and power saws.

  • Gather and remove litter

  • Prepare and maintain flower beds with bark mulch, pinestraw, lava rocks, gravel, etc. 

  • Collect leaves and debris

  • Maintain parking lots and public areas by blowing cut grass clippings and debris out of sight

  • Use hand or gas powered tools such as backpack blowers, edgers, mowers.

 

Essential Job Qualifications and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Mowing routes are a single lawn care technician route. 

  • General work days are Monday-Friday but may vary depending on weather conditions & work-related projects.  Saturday work may be required. 

  • This position requires that you work in adverse weather conditions such as heat, rain etc.

  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license prior to employment with 2 years clean driving record.

  • Consistent and dependable attendance is a must. 

  • Perform a variety of tasks and assigned work duties involving strenuous manual labor in outdoor projects and worksites. 

  • Maintain a clean job site; picking up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards

  • Loading and unloading trucks/trailers, hauling, material handling and storage maintaining a clean and orderly work truck. 

  • Performing required light maintenance of equipment.

  • Reading and interpreting safety/employment manuals and other work-related documents.

  • Comply with safety regulations; a maintaining clean and orderly facility.

  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed; bringing problems to the attention of the Foreman or Safety Director.

  • Be able to pass a drug test and background check.

  • Previous lawn care experience a plus.
